Bio
After various wanderings, the Dutch NH lives and works in Vienna, Austria. Her professional life has taken her through fashion, creative art therapy and artagogics, to fully dedication to create her own art.
Due to her background, she works multimedia. And focuses on using different materials and applies this in 2D and 3D work. She works mainly figuratively.
She deals with the theme of mankind and his nature. Focused on the will to place oneself above nature and the denial of being part of nature.
She takes inspiration from her collages of images and texts from magazines and newspapers. She discovered her love for collage making while studying fashion. The collages help her approach her understanding of the world and give her a base for her final work. Which at this moment are sculptures and objects.
She hopes to give others a deeper understanding and comforting view of the human condition through her art.
Artist statement
Creating gives me a place in this world and through creating there is a greater understanding of this world. Through my art, I want to give others this understanding and a deepening comforting view of the world.
The overarching theme that recurs in my work is: how do people manifest themselves in this world? With the main focus on man as part of nature & its denial.
With my background in fashion and creative art therapy, I am familiar with different materials and techniques which allows me to work multimedia: from collage to 3D techniques. I mainly work figuratively.
